The 10 Keys to Personal Power

The 10 Keys to Personal Power

 Brian Tracy

briantracy.com

Key 1: Clarity
"Have vision. Determine what you want to be, do or have in life.  Have a sense of direction and know where you’re going.  If you do not have clear specific goals in life, you are doomed forever to work for others who do."
Many people assume that clarity is something that will arrive in good time if they simply wait patiently. Others feel stunted that they aren’t gifted with the same degree of clarity as others. The common pattern is that clarity is seen as something that is bestowed from the outside in, that it’s something God, the universe, or the world at large has the power to grant you or that it’s an accident in some way. Some people get lucky; others don’t.These attitudes are pointless and self-defeating.Clarity isn’t something that arrives from outside of you. Clarity isn’t a matter of luck either. Clarity is what you create for yourself.Clarity is a decision.Whatever degree of clarity you’re experiencing right now is what you’ve decided to create. Not deciding still counts as a decision; in that case it’s the decision to remain uncertain.

Key 2: Competence
"If you commit to excellence, opportunities will always come your way. The harder you work, the better you get."

A competency is more than just knowledge and skills. It involves the ability to meet complex demands, by drawing on and mobilizing psycho
social resources (including skills and attitudes) in a particular context. For example, the ability to communicate effectively is a competency that
may draw on an individual’s knowledge of language, practical IT skills and attitudes towards those with whom he or she is communicating.
Individuals need a wide range of competencies in order to face the complex challenges of today’s world, but it would be of limited practical value to produce very long lists of everything that they may need to be able to do in various contexts at some point in their lives.

Key 3: Concentration
"Make the best use of your time. Ask yourself "Is this the best use of my time?"before you start  anything."

Concentration is the ability to stay focused on your work without letting people, feelings, thoughts or activities get in the way. People during or after treatment may notice changes in their ability to concentrate. There are three helpful steps that may improve and develop your concentration abilities. Try to recognize internal distractions and take care of them, Internal distractions such as thoughts, emotions, physical feelings, hunger and tiredness can interrupt your ability to focus. Do something about the things that are bothering you before you start the task at hand. For instance, if you know that you are hungry, eat before you start a task.

Key 4: Common Sense

you develop common sense by continually comparing the results of your actions to what you expected to achieve.Common Sense is often defined as an ability to recognize patterns in new situations that are similar to experiences that you have had in the past. As you acquire more knowledge and experiences in particular field, you memorize more patterns.you will be able to detect a familiar pattern in a new situation and take immediate action. you will be able to  connect the dots faster.

Key 5: Creativity

The created item may be intangible such as a idea, scientific theory, a musical composition or a joke, or a physical object such as an invention, a literary work or a painting. The trick to creativity, if there is a single useful thing to say about it, is to identify your own peculiar talent and then to settle down to work with it for a good long time. Everyone has an aptitude for something. The trick is to recognize it, to honor it, to work with it. This is where creativity starts.

Key 6: Consideration
"The quality of your relationships with other people will determine your success in life.""Develop the people skills you need to become a better communicator.  Take courses in listening, speaking, etc.""If you were to learn one new word a day, within 5 years, you’ll be the best educated person in history."
Image result for considerationConsideration is the concept of legal value in connection with contrast.Consideration is the benefit that each party receives, or expects to receive, when entering into a contract. Consideration is often monetary, but it can be a promise to perform a specific act, or a promise to refrain from doing something. In order for a contract or agreement to be legally binding, every party to the contract must receive some type of consideration. in legal system, the term consideration refers to something of value given to someone to return for goods, services, or some other promise.

Key 7: Consistency

"Dependable, steady predictable work is always superior to fast spurts of work."
"Be consistent in your relationships, your family, friends, your boss, your work.  Be the person that people can depend upon.  That if you say you’ll do something you do it.."

Image result for consistencyThe concept consistency means the accounting methods once adopted must be applied consistently in future. Also same methods and techniques must be used for similar situations. It implies that a business must refrain from changing its accounting policy unless on reasonable grounds. If for any valid reasons the accounting policy is changed, a business must disclose the nature of change, the reasons for the change and its effects on the items of financial statements.Consistency concept is important because of the need for comparability, that is, it enables investors and other users or financial statements to easily and correctly compare the financial statements of a company.

Key 8: Commitment
"No success is possible without commitment.  The ability to commit yourself whole heartily is the basis of achieving all success." "Become totally absorbed in your work.  Be totally committed."

Image result for commitmentThese offerings of relationship commitments are typically statements about behavior or proposed outcomes. For example, “I’m committed to you” suggests that I may not be seeking another relationship or that I’m going to be monogamous. The institution of marriage is most identified with the pledge of commitment. It is an undertaking of legal vows to substantiate our pledge to fidelity, if not continued love. The difficulty is that we’re making promises about behaviors and outcomes, but ignoring the process necessary to achieve that goal. Imagine a student offering a commitment to attaining straight A’s but not devoting themselves to their studies. The commitment simply becomes lip service without the earnest devotion toward achieving the end.

Key 9: Courage

"The fear of failure is the single greatest reason for failure in life."

Image result for courage examplesCourage comes in many shapes, sizes and forms. While racing into a burning building to save lives and helping out a person who is being robbed are certainly courageous and admirable acts, even smaller occurrences can count as acts of courage.
For example, confronting a bully or asking out a secret crush out on a date both require certain levels of bravery. Therefore, acts full of courage can happen on the grand scale, but also on the smaller, day to day life level.

Key 10: Confidence
"You only get confidence by doing things over and over again ."

Image result for confidence
confidence can be described as a belief in one's ability to succeed. Striking a healthy balance can be challenging. Too much of it and you can come off as cocky and stumble into unforeseen obstacles.Self-confident people are admired by others and inspire confidence in others. They face their fears head-on and tend to be risk takers. They know that no matter what obstacles come their way, they have the ability to past them. Self-confident people tend to see their lives in a positive light even when things aren't going so well, and they are typically satisfied with and respect themselves.

REFLECTION
The ten key to personal power can benefit you in life, and make you a better person and success in life. i am applying competence every Sunday i go play baseball i compete to win every game, i compete by spiking other language that is hard to me, also i apply confidence belief in myself that i can do the things.

Cubs Champions

Cubs Win The World Series

For the first time since 1908, the Cubs are world series Champions believe it. After a 108-year wait for a World Series championship, the Cubs had to wait just a little longer and the brief rain delay came at exactly the right time for Jason Heyward to give the players a pep talk. A 17-minute delay followed the ninth inning, then Ben Zobrist smacked a tiebreaking RBI double in a two-run 10th that lifted the Cubs to an 8-7 victory over the Indians on Wednesday night in Game 7.

The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People

The Habits of Highly Effective People

Habits 1: Be proactive

"Habit 1 is the key to unlocking all the other habits and that's why it comes first. It says, "I am the captain of my life. I can choose my attitude. I'm responsible for my own happiness or unhappiness. I am in the driver's seat of my destiny, not just a passenger."
Being proactive means taking responsibility for  your life actions rather than just watching how things happen.
Being proactive takes time, since you have to consider your options , weigh alternatives and make your own decisions in order to achieve your goals. A reactive behavior is influenced by the environment and outside forces. Being proactive means anticipating problems, seeking solutions and your best. Being reactive, on the contrary, means solving problems when turn up not watching changes and doing the minimum effort.

Habits 2: Begin with the End in Mind

"Control your own destiny or someone else will." (Jack Welch)
"When you know where you intend to end up, you know where you are now." (Covey)

When we begin with the End in Mind, we have a personal direction to guide our daily activities, without which we will accomplish little toward own goals. Beginning with end in mind is part of the process of personal leadership, taking control of our own lives. All things are created twice. We create them first om our minds, and the we work to bring them onto physical existence. By taking control of our own first creation, we can write or rewrite our own scripts, thus taking some control and responsibilities for the outcome. We write or re- write our scripts using our imagination and conscience.

Habit 3: Put First Things First

"Organize and execute around priorities."

First Things First means you have decided that you are ready to take control of your life and do it right. It means that you are going to do the most important and urgent thing first before you focus on doing anything else. This habit is where we prioritize instead of slack off or procrastinate. Prioritizing include clarifying your values and then setting goals based on the values. What can help you along the way is a planner of some sort to help you remember and organize your assignment, goals, and to-do list. Goals setting based on those values.

Habit 4: Think Win-Win

"Think win-win or no deal."

Win- win means that agreements or solutions are mutually beneficial, mutually satisfying. With a win-win solution all the parties feel good about the decisions and feel committed to the action plan. Many people think in terms of either/or: either you’re nice or you’re tough. Win-win requires that you be both. It is a balancing act between courage and consideration. To go for win-win, you not only have to be emphatic, but you also have to be confident. You not only have to be considerate and sensitive, you also have to be brave. To do that to achieve that balance between courage and consideration, is the essence of real maturity and is fundamental to win-win.

Habit 5: Seek First to Understand, then to be Understood

"Diagnose before you prescribe."

seek first to understand, then to understood is that people from opinions based on their own experiences. Unless they work hard to understand the other person's perspective, two people can see the same thing from completely different viewpoints because they are understanding autobiographically. It can be dangerous to prescribe without an accurate diagnosis. An effective salesperson seeks to understand the needs, concerns and situation of the customer. An amateur sells products, the professional sells solutions. This is a common denominator principle with its greatest power in interpersonal relationships.

Habit 6: Synergize

"The whole is greater than the sum of its parts (1+1=3)"

To put it simply, synergy means two heads are better than one.  Synergize is the habit of creative cooperation. it is teamwork, open - mindedness, and the adventure of finding new solutions to old problems. But it doesn't just happen on its own . it's a process, and through that process, people bring all their personal experience and expertise to the table. Together , they can produce far better results that they could individually. Synergy lets us discover jointly  things we are much less likely to discover by ourselves. It is the idea that the whole is greater than the sum of the parts.

Habit 7: Sharpen the saw
The four Dimensions of self-renewal: Physical, Mental, Spiritual, Social/Emotional

Sharping the saw is an ongoing process of personal change, not something you can binge, like your favorite TV show. You need to define your own balanced, four dimensional life to be successful if you are a leader. part of our role is to help the people who report into to you and or look up to you. we need to explore dimensions and establish goals our self.

Remember Names

Tips to remember person's names
  • Use the name immediately.

  • Comment on the name, if possible.
  • Use it occasionally in the conversation without overdoing it.
  • Use it when leaving.
  • Write it down afterwards.
  • If you remember visual images most easily, try creating an image based on the name and linking it to some physical characteristic of the person.
